Struktur

GHRP-6 (His-D-Trp-Ala-Trp-D-Phe-Lys-NH₂) wurde aus Enkephalin-Analoga entwickelt, bevor der Ghrelin-Rezeptor bekannt war; seine Erforschung trug wesentlich zur Entdeckung von GHS-R1a und Ghrelin bei.

Forschungsschwerpunkte

Neben der GH-Freisetzung werden appetitregulierende Effekte über den Ghrelin-Signalweg sowie zytoprotektive Effekte in Herz- und Lebermodellen untersucht.

Einordnung

Keine Arzneimittelzulassung; die WADA führt GH-Sekretagoga in der Kategorie S2.
