Struktur
IGF-1 LR3 besteht aus den 70 Aminosäuren von IGF-1 mit Arginin statt Glutaminsäure an Position 3 und einer N-terminalen Verlängerung um 13 Aminosäuren (83 Aminosäuren insgesamt). Dadurch bindet es kaum an IGFBPs und bleibt länger biologisch verfügbar.
Forschungsschwerpunkte
Eingesetzt wird es vor allem in Zell- und Gewebekulturen zur Stimulation von Wachstum und Proliferation sowie zur Untersuchung des IGF-1-Rezeptors (PI3K/Akt, MAPK).
Einordnung
IGF-1 LR3 ist nicht als Arzneimittel zugelassen und steht auf der Verbotsliste der WADA.
