Struktur
Ipamorelin ist ein Pentapeptid (Aib-His-D-2Nal-D-Phe-Lys-NH₂) mit nicht-proteinogenen Bausteinen, die die Stabilität gegenüber Peptidasen erhöhen. Es wurde in den 1990er-Jahren als selektives GH-Sekretagogum beschrieben.
Forschungsschwerpunkte
In Tiermodellen löst Ipamorelin eine dosisabhängige Wachstumshormon-Freisetzung aus, ohne – im Unterschied zu GHRP-6 oder Hexarelin – nennenswert ACTH oder Cortisol zu erhöhen. Weitere Studien befassen sich mit Effekten auf die gastrointestinale Motilität.
