Structure
hCG consists of an α subunit (shared with LH, FSH and TSH) and a specific β subunit with a long glycosylated C-terminus. Amounts are given in international units (IU).
State of research
Research covers LH/hCG receptor activation, steroidogenesis in Leydig and granulosa cells and the role of hCG in early pregnancy.
Status
hCG is an approved prescription-only medicinal substance and is on the WADA Prohibited List for males. The material offered here is a research reagent.
