What is Semaglutide?
Semaglutide is a 31-amino-acid peptide with 94 % homology to human GLP-1. An Aib residue at position 2 protects against DPP-4 degradation, and a C18 fatty-acid side chain on Lys26 mediates albumin binding.

State of research
Semaglutide was studied in the SUSTAIN (type 2 diabetes), STEP (obesity) and SELECT (cardiovascular events) programmes. In people with overweight and heart disease but no diabetes, SELECT showed about a 20 per cent reduction in major cardiovascular events.
Methodologically, the oral form stands out: with the absorption enhancer SNAC, semaglutide is absorbed in the stomach, one of the few approved oral peptide formulations. In laboratory work semaglutide often serves as the reference GLP-1 agonist against which newer dual and triple agonists are compared.
Status and quality
Semaglutide is approved as a medicine in the EU. The material offered here is not a medicinal product. Peptidkauf sells Semaglutide solely as a research reagent for laboratory and in-vitro use and gives no dosing or application advice.
An independent laboratory tests every batch for purity (HPLC), identity and measured content before it goes on sale; the reports and their verification keys are in the lab report archive. The material ships as lyophilised powder in a glass vial; storage and laboratory handling are covered under storage & handling.
