Legal status and responsibility

Research peptides sit within a clear legal frame if you take it seriously. What decides is not the molecule but the purpose: a peptide sold and described as a laboratory reagent is something different from a peptide advertised with doses and health claims. This page sets out the rules we work by; the general overview is in are peptides legal?.

What this means for your order

So you know what you are agreeing to before you buy, here are the rules we sell by – briefly and in plain words:

  • Purpose: We sell peptides exclusively as laboratory reagents for research, not for use in humans or animals. That is why we give no dosing or usage advice.
  • Confirmation: With every order you confirm that you are at least 18 and buy the products exclusively for research and laboratory purposes. We store this confirmation with its time and text version on the order.
  • Your responsibility: Whether buying and holding a specific substance is permitted for your purpose depends on the case – for example under medicines or anti-doping law. As the buyer you are responsible for the specific use; if in doubt, clarify it with your institution or a legal adviser.
  • Evidence: For every batch we publish the independent lab report, which you can verify at the lab with its key (lab report archive).
  • Delivery: We ship from Poland within the EU, with an invoice showing VAT. Deliveries outside the EU are subject to the import rules there.

This overview is not legal advice.

The three sets of rules in brief

RulesWhat they mean for research peptides
Medicines lawOffering a peptide for human use makes it a medicine that needs approval. A laboratory reagent is described only by identity, purity and lab handling.
Anti-dopingMany peptides are on the World Anti-Doping Agency's prohibited list, regardless of approval status.
ImportWithin the EU there are no customs formalities; shipments from third countries can be inspected and held.

Why we give no doses

Dosing and usage advice would present a laboratory reagent as a medicine. It would also be unjustifiable: for most research peptides there are no tested human doses, and doses from clinical trials apply only to the trial population under medical supervision. Instead, we describe the study evidence, ordered by level of evidence.
