Structure
ARA-290 (pE-EQLERALNSS) mimics the spatial structure of helix B of erythropoietin. It activates the heterodimeric receptor of EPO receptor and β-common receptor (CD131), but not the homodimeric EPO receptor that drives erythropoiesis.
Research focus
Studies examine anti-inflammatory and tissue-protective effects, especially in models of small-fibre neuropathy, including early clinical studies.
Status
No marketing authorisation in the EU.
