Structure
Hexarelin (His-D-2-Me-Trp-Ala-Trp-D-Phe-Lys-NH₂) differs from GHRP-6 by a 2-methyl-tryptophan, which increases stability and potency.
Research focus
Studies examine GH release, the diminishing response with repeated administration (desensitisation) and cardiovascular effects mediated partly via CD36 and independently of growth hormone.
Status
No marketing authorisation; WADA lists GH secretagogues in category S2.
