Peptide lexicon
N-Acetyl Epitalon Amidat
N-terminally acetylated, C-terminally amidated form of the tetrapeptide Epitalon (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly).
| Substance class | Peptide |
|---|---|
| Sequence | Ac-AEDG-NH2 |
| Synonyms | NA-Epitalon-NH2 |
Structure
N-Acetyl Epitalon Amidate (Ac-AEDG-NH₂) differs from Epitalon only by the two terminal modifications intended to increase stability against peptidases.
State of research
Research questions follow Epitalon: telomerase activity, melatonin rhythm and ageing models. Stand-alone studies on the modified form are rare.
Status
N-Acetyl Epitalon is not approved as a medicinal product.
