Structure and function
NAD⁺ is a dinucleotide of nicotinamide and adenine mononucleotide. As a redox cofactor it carries electrons in glycolysis, the citric acid cycle and the respiratory chain; it is also consumed by sirtuins, poly(ADP-ribose) polymerases and CD38.
Research focus
Research covers the age-related decline of cellular NAD⁺ levels, precursors such as NMN and nicotinamide riboside, and the influence of NAD⁺ metabolism on mitochondrial function and DNA repair in cell and animal models.
Lab note
NAD⁺ is hygroscopic and sensitive to hydrolysis in solution; the lab reports state the content per vial.
