Structure
Selank consists of the tuftsin sequence Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg extended by Pro-Gly-Pro. The C-terminal extension increases stability against peptidases.
Research focus
Studies examine interactions with the GABAergic system, expression of neurotransmission genes and immunomodulatory effects on cytokines. Many studies are in Russian and carried out in animal models.
Status
Selank is registered as a medicine in Russia; there is no authorisation in the EU. N-acetyl selank amidate is a component of the neuro blend.
