Structure
Tirzepatide is a linear 39-amino-acid peptide that resembles native GIP at the GIP receptor and also activates the GLP-1 receptor. A C20 diacid side chain extends its half-life through albumin binding.
State of research
Research focuses on co-activation of both incretin receptors, insulin secretion, insulin sensitivity and energy metabolism. Extensive phase III data have been published.
Status
Tirzepatide is an approved medicinal substance. The material offered here is a research reagent, not a medicinal product.
