What is thymalin?
The name comes from Soviet research on thymus extracts, but an extract is a mixture and laboratory work needs a defined substance. At Peptidkauf the lab report identifies the content as thymulin (pE-AKSQGGSN, 858.9 g/mol), also known as facteur thymique sérique.
Research status
Thymulin is produced by thymic epithelial cells and needs zinc for activity. It is studied in T-cell maturation, regulation of inflammatory messengers and interactions between the immune and endocrine systems.
Status
Not approved in the EU. Research use only. Other thymic peptides: thymosin alpha-1, thymogen.
