What is 5-Amino-1MQ Capsules?
5-Amino-1-methylquinolinium is a small, positively charged molecule (small molecule), not a peptide. It has been described as a selective NNMT inhibitor. In capsule form the substance comes in a constant amount per capsule, which makes standardised test series without reconstitution easier.

State of research
Nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT) consumes nicotinamide and methyl groups and is more active in the adipose tissue of obese animals and people. Stanley Watowich's group at the University of Texas Medical Branch developed 5-amino-1MQ as a selective inhibitor.
In mice with diet-induced obesity, 5-amino-1MQ reduced body weight and fat cell size and lowered cholesterol without changing food intake (Neelakantan et al., 2018). Further work examines NNMT in muscle ageing and cancer cells. Human data are lacking.
Status and quality
5-amino-1MQ is not approved as a medicine. Peptidkauf sells 5-Amino-1MQ Capsules solely as a research reagent for laboratory and in-vitro use and gives no dosing or application advice.
An independent laboratory tests every batch for identity and content before it goes on sale; the reports and their verification keys are in the lab report archive. Store the capsules dry, protected from light and at room temperature; no reconstitution is needed.
