Structure
Sermorelin corresponds to amino acids 1–29 of human GHRH with a C-terminal amide. It binds the pituitary GHRH receptor and is rapidly degraded by DPP-4.
State of research
Research covers pulsatile growth hormone release, the function of the somatotropic axis and comparisons with stabilised analogues such as Mod GRF 1-29.
Status
A former sermorelin product was withdrawn from the market; there is no authorisation in the EU. Sermorelin is on the WADA Prohibited List.
