What is SNAP-8?
SNAP-8 (Ac-EEMQRRAD-NH2, 1,075.2 g/mol) is a variant of argireline (acetyl hexapeptide-3) extended by two amino acids. Both mimic the end of SNAP-25, a protein needed for vesicles to fuse with the cell membrane.
Research status
SNAP-8 is studied mainly in cell models and in dermatological formulation studies on expression lines; in cosmetics it is listed as an ingredient (INCI: acetyl octapeptide-3). How far its effect reaches through the skin is disputed.
Research reagent, not a cosmetic
Our SNAP-8 is a pure freeze-dried peptide for laboratory work. Related: Matrixyl, GHK-Cu.
